I’m going to begin my daily slicing habit by sharing 31 things about me. I hope you’ll share some things about you in your comments.
- I am a mother of two college age children. They are my greatest joy.
- I am a daughter of one of the strongest, most independent women I’ve ever known.
- I am a sister, and a cousin, but not an aunt.
- My family moved often during my childhood which gave me the chance to see a lot of the world before I was 15.
- My father was my hero.
- When I was in second grade I wrote about how I wanted to become a teacher.
- I prefer mountains and beaches to big cities.
- But… I love a few days in New York City.
- My only pet is a 16 year old cat. I think she has dementia.
- My hobbies include knitting, reading, writing and ย trying new recipes.
- Travel is one of my favorite things to do.
- But… I don’t like to fly.
- When I fly, I say my prayers during take-off and landing.
- I collect cookbooks.
- Shopping exhausts me, but I love pretty clothes.
- I also love the smell of old churches.
- Farmers markets make my heart sing.
- Dinner with family and friends is my favorite way to spend a Saturday night.
- I hope to visit Vienna at Christmastime someday.
- Ireland is at the top of my list.
- When it comes to coffee, there is no substitute for real half-and-half.
- Someday I hope to have time to make homemade bread more often.
- I go to barre classes because I know they are good for me.
- Swimming laps is my favorite form of exercise.
- I may never get good at golf.
- Winning on the tennis court makes me laugh. So does losing.
- My favorite thing about winter is nightly fires.
- My tbr pile on my bedside table is embarrassingly high.
- Fresh flowers in a vase is my favorite thing to see on the kitchen counter.
- Peonies are my favorite flowers.
- I don’t especially like the color red.
I just discovered this post through Melanie’s blog–not sure how I missed it earlier in the month. I love this idea for a list and will definitely be using as a mentor text before the month is up. Thank you! Amazing how many little slices are shared in this list!

Loved reading your list and learning more about you. We have many things in common (altho I love tea and the colour red.)

I love this! Reading this has gotten me to make connections and spark some future writing ideas. I, too, do not like flying and totally say prayers during the entire take off and once we start landing. I have one daughter who is a 2nd grader and she teaches me a lot every day. My father was my hero and still is in many ways. Thanks for sharing!

Can I copy this idea? Love it! I don’t like red either. And I’ve accepted that I won’t ever get good at golf, but I’m good at enjoying it. xo to you, my friend.

Too, too many good books available! Love reading your list. I’ve been to Salzburg & Vienna but not at Christmas time. That’s a wonderful goal. I love that you’re a swimmer. Although I love the water, I’ve never felt good enough to lap swim. It always sounds good! I think I’d rather be horseback riding. Thanks, Lisa.

My TBR pile is a mile high too! Probably more books than I will ever read. Wishful thinking, I suppose….I loved this list idea. You may see it pop up in my writing soon! ๐ (P.S. – You’ve also inspired me to build a fire tonight — on a Wednesday! We are rebel women!!)

I love this list and the list idea. I plan to steal it for later posts! We have many things in common. Numbers 7 and 8, as well as, numbers 7-14 especially spoke to me. Because I had a stint in college where I thought I was going to dental school, red is not a color I favor either.

I especially loathe red, do yoga because it’s good for me and my husband owns all the cookbooks in our house. We have a plethora of them, seriously! Thanks for sharing, Lisa!
