Choose

It isn’t easy to choose. It is privilege, one I often take for granted.  A wonderful freedom.  But when you choose, you also have to let go.  You can’t choose it all.  There are consequences for choices, even if the choices are the right one.  Choosing the best path can be scary and hard. There are things that you have to give up when you choose.  Choosing can be scary.  But choosing can also be liberating.  It can make you feel strong, and braver than you thought you were.  

One quote I constantly come back to is “Choose Kind,” from R.J. Pallacio’s  book Wonder.  Two powerful words. It is my aim, everyday, to choose kind.
